Tariffs task

A tariffs task executes an action when an energy tariff of a meter meets a configured condition.

📋 Overview

With a tariffs task an action is triggered based on the current energy tariffs of a grid connection point. You determine whether the task is triggered by a tariff period (peak or off-peak) or a specific tariff threshold, and configure what action is performed when the condition is met.

🎛️ Possibilities

Type

You set what type of task you are adding. In this case Tariffs.

Condition

You set at what energy tariff the task is triggered:

  • Meter: Select the grid connection point whose tariffs are used. Only energy supplier meters (PAP/SAP) are available.
  • Energy rates: Choose when the task is triggered:
    • Peak rate: The task is triggered when the peak rate starts.
    • Off-peak rate: The task is triggered when the off-peak rate starts.
    • Import tariff: The task is triggered when a certain import tariff (for consuming energy from the grid) is reached.
    • Export tariff: The task is triggered when a certain export tariff (for delivering energy to the grid) is reached.

For import tariff or export tariff, additionally configure:

  • Compare mode (only when both PAP and SAP are available): Determine how the tariff is compared:
    • Threshold: Compare the tariff of the selected meter against a fixed threshold value.
    • Difference: Compare the difference between the PAP and SAP tariff. The difference is positive when the tariff on the selected connection point is higher than on the other.
  • Tariff threshold or Tariff difference: Set the threshold value (in €/kWh). The task is triggered when the tariff meets the chosen comparator: less than (<), less than or equals (<=), equals (=), not equals (!=), greater than or equals (>=), or greater than (>).

Action

You choose an actuator or automation on which the task performs an action. The available actions depend on the actuators and automations available in the installation.

Tariff switcher:

  • Tariff: Set the tariff to Low/Off-peak or High/Peak.

Switches:

  • State: Select the desired state. Depending on the type of switch, different states are possible, e.g. Off, On, Normal, High, Max.
  • Keep in this state for a minimum duration: Enable this to keep the device in the selected state for at least a set duration. Other tasks cannot change the state during this lock period. Set the Minimum duration (in minutes).

Power curtailment:

  • State: Select the desired state for power curtailment (Off, On).
  • Power: When enabled, set the desired power using the slider (0–100%).

Charge/discharge control:

  • State: Select the desired state for the battery (Off, Discharge, Charge).
  • Power: When discharging or charging, set the desired power using the slider (depending on the battery capacity).

Automations:

  • State: Select whether the automation becomes Active or Paused.

📝 Managing tasks

Adding a tariffs task

  1. Go to Tasks within your installation.
  2. Click + Add to add a new task.
  3. Select Tariffs as the type and click Next.
  4. Select the meter and choose the desired energy rates condition. Click Next.
  5. Select the desired actuator or automation.
  6. Configure the desired action based on the selected actuator or automation.
  7. Click + Create to save the task.

Editing a task
