Growatt battery

📋 Overview

Growatt batteries (such as the ARK and APX series) are not connected directly to the Currentt Navigator. The battery is connected to the Growatt hybrid inverter (SPH or SPA) and is controlled and read out via the inverter.

⚙️ How does it work?

The Growatt battery communicates internally with the hybrid inverter via a CAN bus connection. All battery data (such as state of charge, power, and temperature) is available via the Modbus registers of the inverter. By connecting the inverter to the Currentt Navigator, you automatically have access to the battery data and the Currentt Navigator can control the battery.

🔌 Connection

Connect the inverter to the Currentt Navigator via one of the methods below. The battery data is automatically read via the inverter.

Option 1: Modbus RTU (RS-485)

A wired connection via an RS-485 cable between the inverter and the Currentt Navigator.

A connection via the local network using a Growatt ShineLink-X gateway.

✅ Compatible batteries

ARK series (high voltage)

ModelCapacity per moduleTotal capacityCompatible inverters
ARK-2.5H-A12.56 kWh2.56 – 25.6 kWh (1-10 modules)SPH (single-phase), SPA (three-phase)
ARK-XH2.56 kWh5.12 – 20.48 kWh (2-8 modules)SPH (single-phase), SPA (three-phase)

APX series (high voltage, new generation)

ModelCapacity per moduleTotal capacityCompatible inverters
APX-HV5.12 kWh5.12 – 30.72 kWh (1-6 modules)SPH (single-phase), SPA (three-phase)

All Growatt batteries use LFP (LiFePO4) cells.

Note

The battery must always be connected via a compatible Growatt hybrid inverter (SPH or SPA). Direct connection of the battery to the Currentt Navigator is not possible.
