WHES battery
The WHES PP-T1 (PowerPod T1) is a three-phase all-in-one battery with a built-in hybrid inverter. The system is modular with 4.99 kWh per battery module and scalable from 9.98 kWh to 29.9 kWh. The battery is connected to the Currentt Navigator via Modbus RTU (RS-485).

The WHES PP-T1 has a built-in hybrid inverter (5 - 13 kW). No separate inverter is required and therefore no separate inverter is created in the Currentt Navigator configuration.
⚙️ How does it work?
The WHES PP-T1 communicates via Modbus RTU over an RS-485 connection. The Currentt Navigator reads the battery data (such as state of charge, power, and temperature) and controls the charging and discharging behaviour. Because the inverter is built in, the entire system is managed through a single Modbus connection.
🧰 Requirements
- Currentt Navigator Pro (with RS-485 Modbus connection)
- WHES PP-T1 battery
- RS-485 cable (twisted pair, e.g. CAT5 or a suitable 2-wire cable)
1️⃣ Step 1: Install the WHES PP-T1
- Install the WHES PP-T1 according to the supplied installation manual
- Ensure the system is powered on and functioning correctly
- Note the Modbus address of the battery (default: 1)
2️⃣ Step 2: Make the RS-485 connection
Connect the Currentt Navigator to the VPP-485A and VPP-485B terminals on the WHES PP-T1.

- Connect an RS-485 cable to the VPP-485A (A) and VPP-485B (B) terminals on the WHES PP-T1
- Connect the other end to the RS-485 Modbus connection on the Currentt Navigator
- Use a twisted pair cable for a reliable connection
- Keep the cable length as short as possible (maximum 1000 metres)
Ensure that VPP-485A is connected to A and VPP-485B to B on the Currentt Navigator. Swapping A and B will cause communication errors.
3️⃣ Step 3: Configuration in the Currentt Navigator
After connecting the RS-485 cable, the battery must be added in the Currentt Navigator.
