Solis inverter via Modbus TCP connection
This guide describes step by step how to connect a Solis inverter to the Currentt Navigator via Modbus TCP over the local network, using the Solis DataLogger S2-WL-ST.

When you enable Modbus TCP on the DataLogger S2-WL-ST, the data logger loses its connection to SolisCloud. Monitoring via SolisCloud will no longer work afterwards. Do you want to keep SolisCloud? Then use Modbus RTU.

🪛 Installation instructions
Step 1: Fit the data logger
- Connect the DataLogger S2-WL-ST to the logger port of the inverter
- Make sure the inverter is switched on and the data logger starts up
Step 2: Connect the data logger to the network
Connect the data logger to the same network as the Currentt Navigator. This can be done via LAN (wired) or via WiFi.
- Connect your laptop or phone to the access point of the data logger
- Open a browser and navigate to 10.10.100.254
- Log in with username admin
- On first login you must set a password and then log in again
- Configure the network settings so the data logger joins your local network
A wired LAN connection is more stable than WiFi and prevents communication issues caused by a weak or fluctuating signal.
Step 3: Enable Modbus TCP
- In the web interface of the data logger, enable Modbus TCP
- Save the settings
As soon as Modbus TCP is enabled, the data logger drops its connection to SolisCloud. This is by design on Solis: the data logger cannot offer local Modbus TCP and communicate with the cloud at the same time.
Step 4: Determine the IP address
To connect the inverter to the Currentt Navigator you need the IP address of the data logger.
- Determine the IP address the data logger received on your network
- Via your router: check the DHCP client list
- Via the web interface: the IP address is shown in the network settings of the data logger
- Note down the IP address; you need it in the next step
With DHCP, the IP address of the data logger can change after a router restart, causing the connection with the Currentt Navigator to drop. Set a static IP address via LAN Settings in the web interface of the data logger, or reserve the IP address in your router (DHCP reservation).
Step 5: Configuration in the Currentt Navigator
After configuring the data logger, the inverter must be added in the Currentt Navigator.
Via the installation wizard (recommended)
- Click the settings icon (top right of the screen)
- Choose Installation wizard
- Follow the steps on the screen
Manual configuration
- Click the settings icon (top right of the screen)
- Go to Components
- Click the + button in the Inverters section
- Select Solis
- Under Communication, enter the connection details:

- Click Save
The Modbus address is needed with Modbus TCP as well: the data logger forwards the request to the inverter with that address. By default this is 1.
The Currentt Navigator and the data logger must be on the same network (and the same VLAN). If they are on different network segments, the Navigator cannot reach the inverter.
